In early 1995, Kennedy Brewer was sentenced to die by lethal injection after having been convicted for the rape and murder of his girlfriend’s three year-old daughter.

DNA testing on evidence from the crime scene in Brewer’s case implicated another individual. In February Brewer was finally cleared of all charges after twelve years in prison, five of them on death row.
